Effective March 29, 2009, new address placement and formatting requirements adopted byt the Postal Service for Periodicals, Standard Mail, Bound Printed Matter, Media Mail, and Library Mail flat-size pieces sent at automation, presorted, or carrier route prices, will be implemented. The USPS also adopts related revisions for automation and presorted First-Class Mail flats.
Under these new requirements, clients will now need to adjust where they layout the mailing panel on their flat size selfmailers. Currently most of our clients allocate the lower half, or third, of the back cover for the mailing panel. Under the new regulations, that mailing panel will need to shift to the upper half of the back cover. Fact sheets describing the changes to the First-Class and Standard Mail Classes are attached to this article. We encourage you to contact us (703-331-4140) to get all the details of this important change.
